Aemilius Sauterne

Sauterne is our first Wegie. We were already waiting for Yasur to be old enough to move to us, but our dog Beer had a very hard time without his friend Gizmo, who we sadly lost to traffic.  Then we saw Sauterne on the Internet: we were in love instantly. Sauterne is everything we like to see in a Norwegian Forestcat. We could hardly believe she was not reserved yet when we visited her for the first time.

Unfortunately Sauterne never gave us kittens. Simply because of the fact she kept turning on her side when the studs tried to mate.
Eventually we made the decision not to try any longer and had her neutered.

Aemilius Sauterne (profiel)

We adore her profile. She may not have the straight profile that the judges on shows like to see these days, but we think it's very alike the original profile of several  decennia ago. Take a look at the logo's of FIFé clubs and you will understand what we mean: big ears, a little 'dip' in the profile of the nose, heavy chin and a prosperous collar. That's how a real Wegie should look like in our opinion.

Aemilius Sauterne

Since we were so enthusiastic of her, of course we took her to a show to hear from the judges about the good and less aspects of her appearance. Catshows turned out to be not our thing, so this was our first and also our last show. But Sauterne liked all the attention and earned a U1, BIV and nominated BIS. We are proud of her!
