'bakkes' in the arms of his mother Mijntje

"press hold"
If only I could have kept you with us just by a simple combination of keys.
Your and our dreams for you on this world collided, but fortunately a future is waiting for you on the other side of the Rainbow bridge.
I hope you will meet Rose there, please bring her our love.
So long little fellow...

The most photogenic kitten of the litter of Mijntje and Doppie. I'm not a good photographer, but his pictures were always very sharp.
Very soon we noticed why: Bakkes was not well and laid too motionless. What only looked like a little wound on his head, grew bigger and his skull-cap seemed to be indented. From his birth on, he lost weight, he did not have the strength to suck on his mothers nipples. We fed him with a bottle but even that turned out too much for him, so we switched to tube feeding. This brought him back to the weight of his birth after 4 days, but his little head started to look more and more awful.

At the fifth day of his life, we decided to end his suffering. His chances for growing out to a adult were estimated as zero.

Bakkes laid down his little head in my hands and left this world on August 13th 2007, 15:25.
